Sebastian Rode sees clear traces of Adi Hütter in the new Eintracht Frankfurt. The 35-year-old former captain, who played three years under the 56-year-old Austrian, recognises his principles in the team's current style of play. "And he even brings an old Hütter trick into play," said Rode in a conversation.
Eintracht started the Bundesliga season with one point from two games and sits in 14th place. Following the 1-4 defeat to FC Augsburg last Saturday, the home match against second-placed SC Freiburg is next. The team's recent form over the last five matches reads two wins, one draw, and two defeats.
Rode on Hütter's Influence
The former midfielder emphasised how much Hütter's ideas had shaped the team. The coach placed great importance on quick transitions and brave pressing. These elements are still recognisable today, according to Rode. Eintracht's current form curve of LDWLW, however, still shows inconsistencies.
