Eintracht Frankfurt will hold its pre-season training camp in Croatia ahead of the 2026/27 season. Sporting director Markus Krösche confirmed the plans to Süddeutsche Zeitung this week.

The club is seeking a new location for this crucial preparation phase. The last camp took place in Windischgarsten, Austria. Now the squad will head to the Adriatic coast. The exact venue and dates are yet to be finalized, but the decision has been made.

Why is Eintracht changing the training camp location?

Markus Krösche explained the reasons for the move to SZ. "We were in Austria for many years, it was a good time," the sporting director said. "Now we want to set new impulses and have decided on Croatia." The climatic conditions and training facilities on site were convincing factors. Planning for the exact schedule is in full swing.

Pre-season preparation is hugely important for the Bundesliga side. Currently, Eintracht Frankfurt sits eighth in the Bundesliga table with one point from one match. The team drew its opener, scoring three goals but also conceding three. This leaves them two points behind leaders Bayern Munich. All the latest data is available on our standings page.

What does the 2026 summer schedule look like?

Besides the training camp, the schedule for friendly matches is also being arranged. These are traditionally played during the camp. The exact opponents and dates will be announced later. The preparation leads directly into the start of the new Bundesliga campaign.

The first competitive fixture after the summer break is already set: On September 6, Eintracht Frankfurt hosts FC Augsburg at Deutsche Bank Park. Augsburg had a strong start and currently sits fourth in the table. The Eagles' complete schedule can be found on our fixtures calendar.

How does the current form factor in?

The decision for a new training environment comes during a period of recalibration. With one point from the first match of the season, the team has a solid but improvable foundation. Defensive stability will be a focus after conceding three goals in one game. The work in Croatia will aim to refine these details.

The squad will be able to bond in its familiar camp setting. Players involved in the 2026 European Championship are expected to join later. The current roster is documented in our squad overview. The first home game of the season against Augsburg on September 6, 2026, is the first real test of the summer's work.
