Wunsch-Sechser endlich da: Clear title contender for Eintracht Frankfurt

Nigerian international Onyedika has finally joined Eintracht Frankfurt. The 25-year-old midfielder will fill the void in midfield. The Eagles signed him from Belgian club Brügge for around 10 million euros.

Last summer, Onyedika was supposed to join the Main, but the talks fell through due to the high transfer fee. Now it's finally happened. The midfielder is happy, saying: „I think everything that's meant to be will happen. After the talks last year, we stayed in touch. Luckily, the transfer happened this summer.“

Onyedika has completed his first training session in Frankfurt and is impressed. He praises: „My teammates are great. They help me a lot, just like the coaches.“ The Nigerian international explains: „I want to do as much as possible on the pitch. I enjoy playing with the ball, but when we don't have it, I'm aggressive and try to win it back quickly.“

Onyedika has already won several titles in his career: He was twice Belgian champion, and also won the cup in both Belgium and Denmark. He knows how it works - and wants to continue in Frankfurt. The newcomer says aggressively: „I come to Frankfurt to celebrate even more successes and win more titles.“

Current situation:

The Eagles currently occupy 8th place in the Bundesliga with 44 points. They are 45 points behind the leaders Bayern München. In the current season, they have scored 61 goals and conceded 65. The next fixture is approaching: On November 7, 2026, the Eagles will face SC Paderborn 07 in an away match.
