Talks are already underway with the league’s sixth‑placed side from last season. Brassier has played 161 Ligue 1 matches and previously featured for Stade Brest, Olympique Marseille and Rennes. He stands 1.86 m tall, is left‑footed, and is considered a two‑way defender.

Why Brassier fits Hütter’s style

Coach Adi Hütter (56) trained Brassier from 2023 to 2025 at AS Monaco and is familiar with French football. Brassier can be deployed on the left in a back‑four, masters the transition game, and with his high top speed is a good counter‑defender. These attributes match the style Hütter favours.

Price and contract situation

Brassier’s market value is €12 million according to Transfermarkt.de, but Bild reports the actual asking price is likely below that figure. A transfer for about €10 million would therefore be a bargain, even though Brassier is under contract until 2029. A move would strengthen Frankfurt’s central defence and further reduce the remaining gaps – a striker and a goalkeeper – with Freiburg’s Noah Atubolu (24) still the hottest candidate for the latter.
