Transfer Complete: Futkeu Joins Elversberg
Eintracht Frankfurt has completed the transfer of Noel Futkeu from Greuther Fürth. The 23-year-old forward will be loaned to SV Elversberg. As both clubs announced on Saturday, a one-year loan deal for the reigning 2. Bundesliga top scorer was agreed upon. Subsequently, a purchase option can be exercised, reportedly worth around six million euros. "After the past two years in Fürth, the move to the Bundesliga is the next step I had to take", commented Futkeu on his transfer. In the previous season, the striker scored 19 goals for Fürth. "Through the signing of Noel, we have managed to secure a forward with proven goal-scoring ability, who has demonstrated his qualities in every league over the past few years", praised Sport Director Christian Weber.
Eintracht Frankfurt Happy with Futkeu Transfer
It seems that Frankfurt is also satisfied with the deal. "Noel Futkeu is a good example of how young players at Eintracht Frankfurt can develop into professionals through various paths - both through the U21 and a intermediate step in another league. In Elversberg, Noel will find promising conditions to take his first steps in the Bundesliga", quoted SGE Sport Director Timmo Hardung. Next up for Eintracht Frankfurt is the first Bundesliga match, which will take place on August 29 against Bayer Leverkusen. The team currently sits in 7th place in the Bundesliga, 42 points behind leaders Bayern München. In the current season, the team has scored 54 goals and conceded 54. The next match will take place on February 13 against SC Freiburg.
